On October 7, 2018 the National Association of Lawyers of Ukraine, together with the Council of Europe, conducted a training on the leading educational course of the European HELP training program for representatives of legal professions in the field of human rights “Introduction to the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms”.
In order to improve and enhancement the skills, the FCLEX Semenov O.V. (lawyer / advisor) took an active part in this event. The main topics of discussion and deliberated were the issues of the: categories of rights envisaged by the Convention, the enforcement of the European Court of Human Rights to the interpretation of rights, the application at the national level. Particular attention was paid to the criteria for «admissibility of a complaint» to the European Court of Human Rights.
The training were attended by lawyers, assistants, and interns who, remotely for three months, were trained on the HELP electronic platform, all participants who successfully have performed the distance course received certificates of the Council of Europe.
The gained knowledge and practical skills in applying the Convention and the ECHR decisions will help to more efficiently protect the rights of FCLEX clients in national courts and in the European Court of Human Rights.
